VION was founded around the idea of bringing television, movies and music together through a single universal remote control.
With the concept and initial funding in place, VION needed a team capable of developing the product and the wider ecosystem around it.
Indeed worked as an integrated product development partner, covering the design and development of the product while coordinating specialist partners for electronics and software engineering.
The collaboration extended across the entire product ecosystem, including industrial design, UX and UI, branding, packaging, digital design and production support. The finished product launched to market and received a Red Dot Design Award, UX Design Award and iF Design Award.
The Challenge
Coordinating a complex product ecosystem
VION brought together several areas of consumer technology in one product. The remote needed to connect different media sources while providing a coherent physical and digital experience. The project required close coordination between industrial design, electronics, software, user experience and manufacturing, with a limited budget for development. The product also needed a complete identity and customer-facing experience to support its launch.
Indeed took responsibility for connecting these different disciplines and establishing an integrated development process around the product vision.

Indeed Innovation
Industrial design established the physical product and its interaction with the user. In parallel, the team developed the UX and UI, defining how users would navigate and control different media sources.
Specialist partners were brought in for electronics design and software engineering, with Indeed coordinating the work across the different development streams.
The scope extended into the wider product experience.
Indeed developed the VION brand and logo, designed the packaging and created the company’s homepage and business cards. The team also supported press events, award submissions and the transition toward production.
Prototypes were used throughout the development process to test the product, identify technical issues and refine the design. Working alongside the production partner, Indeed helped resolve manufacturing challenges and optimise the product within the available budget.
The result was a coordinated development process spanning product, technology, experience, brand and launch, with the different elements developed as one connected system.
