INDEED Innovation Shanghai is searching for a Strategic and Industrial Designer who will contribute to leading design and innovation for the global transition to a circular economy.
We are seeking a talented industrial designer with expertise in identifying business opportunities and capturing these opportunities through excellent product design and innovative business case development.
What you will do:
- Design and execute research on product architecture, material flows, stakeholder needs, policy landscape, and more to uncover circular opportunities and generate insights.
- Evaluate the technical and business viability of circular economy opportunities and develop pragmatic business cases and strategic roadmaps to capture the opportunities for our clients.
- Design physical products across sectors, understanding the client’s business context while pushing the envelope of design and sustainability.
- Support client engagement and manage multiple, complex stakeholders’ needs, from clients to partners, sensitively and effectively.
- Assist in identifying and pursuing business development with new and existing clients though pinpointing potential needs and creating proposals.
Relevant experience and qualification:
- 2-4 years of industrial design and innovation experience. Strong research capability and knowledge of Design for Manufacturability preferred. Experience in consulting is a plus.
- Good foundational knowledge of and passion for the circular economy and sustainability topics.
- Sharp analytical skills and strategic mindset to address business questions in designing physical products and system solutions.
- Good presentation skills, with the ability to create and execute compelling, empathetic storytelling.
- Savvy with relevant design tools, including SolidWorks, KeyShot, Adobe PS, and Adobe AI.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written Chinese and English is mandatory.
